Custom Print Pattern Design Collaboration for Align Swim Spring Summer 2024

ngl…Took too long to pen this…but better late than never!

I love love love how as a surface pattern designer I get to collaborate with beautiful brands to elevate their products or just bring something new to their brand - and one way I get to work with brands is through designing a custom print pattern. Here’s a custom print pattern we did for Align Swim for 2024 spring summer - which turned out beautiful!

Dreaming up a summer print with Align Swim was just a magical process! We played with a couple of ideas with moodboards and I really wanted to capture the essence of summer in the prints, citrusy and floral, somewhere by the sea .. we landed on Amalfi lemons and these perfect summery blue forget-me-nots!!

A custom print pattern process includes mood boards and chats around what we would be painting (the elements and story), colour palette, scale of the pattern… 

And then the magic comes when I get to paint all the details.. which I did hand-paint in watercolour, before finally crafting it into a final pattern..

Align Swim launched the Amalfi print in Singapore’s Boutique Fairs 2024 Spring Summer, and it was just stunning! Big heart to Vera of Align Swim for this amazing collaboration.
