Print Pattern Collection 2: Wildflower

moodboard wild flower motifs for print pattern collection

For much of the pandemic that has rocked the world the last 3 years, my toddler and I have spent a large part of it sequestered at home with family members while my husband worked (he's in healthcare).

Finally now that the world has re-opened slowly, and hesitantly, I started noticing much of the nature around us that has been ignored for the last 3 years. In particular I was drawn to what most would have deemed overgrown weeds found along the edge of forested areas and pathways leading to our church; tiny wildflowers springing up in our tropical island climate.

I love the resilience they represent, and how these wild flora attracted fauna of bees and butterflies. I begin noticing more and more of the wild flora and fauna around us in the areas we frequent, and being continually inspired.

It reminded me that while life as we knew had a pause, perhaps it is to allow nature to recover and take its course. Such hope!
